When you call please have your Segment ll certificate number and your level I License or permit number. Permit and level I license number has one letter and 12 numbers and is on your level one license. Segment II will have a EXMO number located in the middle of the completion document.

We have a waitlist for each location. You are welcome to call ahead to be placed on that list. This will guarantee your place in line for coming classes. We will personally call you when a class is approaching. You do not need to be on the list to join a class, but those seats are given first priority. Most locations have limited to no wait time at this moment.

King of the Road Driving School, LLC began in 2006. We have six instructors. We offer classes that last three to five weeks from start to finish. All of our cars have anti-lock brakes and two sets of brakes (one for the student driver and one for the instructor.)

We offer Driving Skills Road Testing. We are the only testing location in Arenac County and are easy to reach from Pinconning, Twining, Au Gres, and we are less than an hour's drive from Bullock Creek, Tawas, Coleman, Midland, West Branch, Gladwin, Linwood, Auburn, and Bay City. We offer Segment I and Segment II drivers education classes at six locations: Standish-Sterling HS, Pinconning HS, Bullock Creek HS, Au Gres HS, Tawas HS, Whittemore-Prescott El, and Coleman Family Center.

Segment I costs $375

Segment II costs $50

Segment I consists of 24 hours of classroom instruction and six hours of behind-the-wheel driving. Your student must be 14 years and 8 months old by the first day of class. Bring your birth certificate to the first class session to prove you are the required age.

Segment II consists of six hours of classroom instruction. Your student must have completed a minimum of 30 hours of supervised driving time including a minimum of two hours of night driving and must have held a valid Level I License for not less than three continuous months by the first day of class. Bring your Level 1 License to the first class session.

Notice: If school is closed for any reason, there will be no Drivers Training Class that day! Scheduled drives will be decided by the instructor based on road conditions at the time of the drive.

(NOTICE ABOUT SEGMENT I AND SEGMENT II COMPLETION CERTIFICATES: If we are asked to send a new certificate to replace a lost one, we will charge $10.

After signing up for a class, click on the appropriate contract button below to fill out a contract that you can print out and mail in with your check or money order or bring to the first day of that class with your payment.
